After 21 days the habit is formed, born and then it’s a simple routine that you like to do and its EASY (well easier).
{come to my Bootcamp from the start and form the habit in 21 days}
- Decide that there is an issue or that you want to change, then book up for my summer bootcamp. You can pay monthly for £30 and that way you will feel financially motivated to come along to every single session in the first month (21 days done and a new habit formed)
- Goal setting: now this is personal to everyone and should be in the short term (a month) and long term (5 months, a year or longer). Its essential that you goal set short term to ensure you achieve long term goals, these goals should be: SMART
- Specific: I am 2 pounds lighter after a week of Bootcamps and feel awesome (notice this goal is written in the past tense) your brain loves this little trick say it enough and it will happen, in-fact it’s allready happened.
- Measurable: weight, dress size, body fat, BMI, happiness, stress levels and energy levels are all measurable.
- Achievable: A couple of stone weight loss in a month is possibly achievable but is very bad for, however 2lbs a week is healthy and achievable.
- Realistic: If you work very hard over 3 months you could drop some dress or jeans sizes but you couldn’t half your body weight. Try and be honest with yourselves here, these Bootcamps are excellent for changing shapes but they are not a magic pill (no ones class is regardless what they say)
- Time based: short term goals like i would like to drop my 3KM time within 30 days or a longer term goal as i would like to shed 2 or 3 stone by going to Glenns’ Bootcamp through-out this year.
- Come along / attend: try and find a motivational buddy that someone with a similar goal they dont have to be the same fitness, weight or size just a training partner or friend. Once you have that pal motivate each other by texting, Facebook, Email and have other banter about the Bootcamp and think about it all of the time. This constant bootcamp mindfulness will help you make better descisions with food, drink and alcohol - after all you won’t want to ruin the your exercise hard work from the Botcamp will you? If you havent got a motivational buddy dont worry because when you make friends with the rest of the Bootcamp tribe on day 1 you will make long term buddies. To ensure teamwork and enjoyment my tribe will always know each other well it’s what makes this different to classes such as metafit.
- Assess your progress: this shouldnt involve getting weighed every week as that is crapola and forms a real negative habit, i am talking about how many more press ups you can do, how much faster you have become, how much quicker you can get your breath back, how your clothes fit better and how energetcic and happy you feel. (basically the important stuff)
- Finally Pat yourself on the back and keep training: You need to tell yourself well done from time to time, this is done very effectively by writing every positive thing you do or achieve in a diary and review (read it back) weekly. Very quickly looking and reading about how great you are starts building self esteem and confidence eventually making you feel much better about STUFF. It uses the truth that if you keep telling yourself that you are crap you will become crap and if you tell yourself that you are great every day you will be great.
- For a great example and proof that this really works: when a young soldier begins the 12 week basic Army training they have no confidence, shy, poor attitude, feel weak, unsure then the instructors (me) train them and tell them every day they are in the best Army, they are the fittest, they are machines, they are strong. After 12 weeks you create this super (over) confident young strong fit soldier BOOM.
- Keep up the fitness regime always, if its only a short term fix then you have already failed as you are already planning to get back on the Macdonalds and Magners that made you fat at first. A training regime to keep a great healthy body and mind should be a way of life and not a two month plan, honestly if you are thinking now i just want to smash it for 2-3 months to get my beach body and then i will chill then you are failing straight away. If you training involves dieting then months of junk food and then months of training you will be slowing down your metabolism constantly eventually making it nearly impossible to lose weight (I have seen this a loads folks)
