The 5am club - Robin Sharma
The basic premise is getting up and exercising by 5am and continuing this for some time until you create a powerful habit. 20 minutes exercise, 20 minutes mindset or meditation then, 20 minutes learning. You can do more and there are many more tips and methods that can be life changing. The book is a little odd to read or listen to as its written like a fictional story, however the outcomes if you follow are profound. What happens if you get up earlier and do exercise and learn? After some time 60 days or more you have created a new neural pathway in your brain (or habit) and it all becomes really easy. I can hear you say "getting up early and exercising will tire me out", NO not true, the polar opposite occurs. Morning exercise, mindset and learning provides tonnes of energy, you will be amazed how much energy you will have all day. Over 6 months you will also be stunned how much you can learn, my last year I have digested 16 books which has greatly improved how I can help myself and my customers and colleagues. I use the motorway university method, audio books for most of my commute time and when I arrive at work I write down important points or techniques. Daily mindset also calms me and assists with dealing with idiots later on in the day. Overall it will make you into a new unrecognisable person in your workplace or home. (people will of course not get the new you, that's their issue).
Anatomy of Peace - Arbinger
In our homes or work we treat people as objects without even realising, taking them for granted and often treating them badly. This book is all about that, and it will blow you away as you will soon recognise how you and others communicating are always being mean or manipulative to one and other. Treating the admin as someone beneath you, your less experienced colleague as stupid, the positive office person as annoying, thinking less of others is the best way of destroying relationships, loyalty and trust . All of this happens every day in every office, and is us acting out of line to our personal values and then treating people badly and justifying it to ourselves by thinking less and less of other people. Think know, when you chat to a work colleague are you speaking to them as an equal human being or treating them as a position? Following Arbingers methods of talking to everyone out of the box and as a human has been proven to provide greater success in families and big business alike.
Add being a better person to your knowledge, health and energy of 5am club is a great start.
