Complete a bike specific fitness test (including power output over 1 minute) and once you have your initial base line you can easily train to what ever goal you are after using a simple training zone tool.
Your fitness gains are transferable to what ever sport or goal you have.
For example:
Training at a threshold level on the Wattbike will improve your threshold speed for middle and long distance running. (basically helping you to run faster over your chosen distance)
Training at and around zone 6 on the Watt bike can improve your metabolism which will increase fat loss without losing too much needed lean muscle.
